Figurative Systems
In these works, figuration appears inside systems of colour, drawing, image construction and spatial signs. Bodies, animals, faces and gestures are not treated as stable motifs, but as carriers, interruptions or disturbances within a visual structure.
Vulture with Black Square shows an animal figure carrying a dark geometric sign. The black square does not simply sit inside the image; it becomes something transported by the figure, almost like a burden, a message or a fragment of another system. The bird connects the organic and the abstract: body, flight, sign and weight.
Other works extend this tension into portraits and drawings. In the double portrait Neanderthal / Nexus, the face becomes a place where archaic and technological associations collide — a human image caught between memory, mutation and device-like structure. In the drawing with three women, the motif remains open: a fragile constellation of bodies, lines and coloured traces, closer to notation than illustration.
The project moves between painting and drawing, between CMYK-based fields, raw grounds, hotel papers and quick linear systems. Rather than returning to traditional figuration, these works treat the figure as a point of tension between body, sign, colour and construction.
